What is Powder Coating?
It’s tough. It looks great. And it lasts a long, long time. Powder coating is a high quality finish that is found on thousands of products you come into contact with each day. It makes window joinery durable and attractive with a large range of colour options available.
Powder coating is not bullet proof and should be treated with the same care and attention with which one would treat the paintwork on a new car – refer to the Care and Maintenance section for more information. (Link)
The Powder Coating Process
How does it work? Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electro-statically charged and sprayed onto the joinery sections to be coated. These sections are then baked in an oven until the powder is fully cured.
The result is a sleek, strong, high-quality finish. Powder coating is available in a number of different chemistries designed for different environments. To choose the correct powder coatings refer to the Powder coating selection chart. (Link)
